Golden tones in a spectrum from the brightest of yellows to almost orange to mustard and burnished brown, found in and around my everyday.
A deeply golden pumpkin destined for the roasting pan & soup.
The flowers of a climber that twines itself over our fence from next door.

The mustardy yellow fabric for a new top.
A dusting of warm cinnamon on little apple muffins.
Sandy coloured yarn for a shawl.
(I'm not sure if you can see the flecks of a deeper yellow.)
My fascination with these colours of late comes as somewhat of a surprise to me. Normally, I favour beautiful blues and the greens of nature but at the moment it's these rich golden colours I feel drawn to. Perhaps it's the new season? Perhaps, I just feel like something in my wardrobe that isn't blue? Whatever the reason, I think these golds are gorgeous and glorious.
What colour/s are you enjoying right now?
Meg
Purple. There are lots of different shades of purple flowers in the yard now. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you know the name of the yellow flower on the second photo? My mom has it in her yard and we call it "yellow flower". Very creative, right? :)
Purple is a lovely colour in the garden, Nil. I have a purple salvia in flower right now and it's such a vibrant colour. I don't know what the yellow flowering vine is called. Perhaps someone else might know?? Meg:)
DeleteThe yellow flower is allamanda
DeleteIn my 20's and 30's I was a "green" girl, for the past decade or so I've been a "blue" girl, inevitably with a bit of beige or brown thrown into the mix, I wonder what my retirement colour will be?? 🤔
ReplyDeleteHa! Mustard yellow seems to be my colour at the moment. I have never been a yellow girl before but I am loving it. Meg ☺
DeleteMeg I have seen that yellow flower before but can't remember the name. We have mainly dahlias flowering now and they are multi coloured. Your shawl is growing :-)
ReplyDeleteDahlias are beautiful, Chel. I have not grown them for a long time. My shawl is steadily growing, gathering confidence as I go. Meg☺
DeleteDefinitely, autumn calling, Meg. :)
ReplyDeleteI've always been a turquoise and green gal, myself. Although, love sepia and sienna, at times, as well. I've got a pumpkin in the pantry, I've been contemplating soup over, and a pineapple on the kitchen bench, saying, eat me!! It's funny to see that mirrored elsewhere.
Although, full disclosure, I've got a carpentry project on the table today, as opposed to yarn or fabric! Still, close enough. ;)
I think a carpentry project definitely counts, Chris! The soup I made from this pumpkin was portioned up and frozen for when the weather actually cools down more. I love pumpkin soup with a swirl of cream! The pineapple was super sweet and so I have planted out the top and hope to get it to grow. I'm not great at growing pineapples but maybe my luck will change. Meg:)
DeleteWe used to have flowers like that when I was growing up....so pretty! The colors that I am drawn to in the Spring here are blues and purples. I just love them. My crocuses are up and they just make me smile.
ReplyDeleteHi, Debbie. Blue and purple flowers are just so lovely. How lucky that you can grow crocuses! I don't usually plant bulbs here but I might this year. Just have to remember to chill them in the fridge! Meg:)
DeleteI love looking at different photos in the one tone....
ReplyDeleteMe too! I think I might do another colour post soon. There are some lovely purples in the garden right now. Meg:)
DeleteLove the colour in your post, I love white and yellow flowers in our garden. In our home I favour shades of green. I am wearing loads of navy at the moment, but I can't wait for the warmer weather to get into the pastel shades.
ReplyDeleteWhite and yellow flowers are so beautiful, Marlene. I had yarrow flowering a while ago and those tiny little daisy-like flowers were so pretty. Hope the weather warms up soon for you so you can wear those pastel shades. We are waiting for the weather to cool down more over here. Meg:)
DeleteI love all the colours of the spring flowers at the moment, but my favourite colour has always been purple.
ReplyDeleteSpring flowers are so very pretty. I will be planting violas and pansies soon and some sweet peas for autumn/winter colour. Meg:)
DeleteAll the pastels...and white, calm, restful white.
ReplyDeleteBut your golden hues in all their different displays are beautiful.
White is so peaceful, Jenny. I love white flowers in the garden. My favourites are gardenias. Meg:)
DeleteThis is a beautiful post. That flower is absolutely gorgeous! There are so many pretty golden and orange fruits and vegetables as the seasons change. I love persimmons, too.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all of the fruits and vegetables displayed at the farmers markets. Baskets and baskets of them making up a rainbow of colours. It's been years since I had a persimmon! Meg:)
DeleteA golden glowing post, Meg.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nanette. I'm loving these colours! Meg:)
