In these last weeks of November, we are counting down days here. Days that will take my son to the end of his primary schooling journey, that will see us make the last of the long drives up and down the highway to the little school, with the alternative educational philosophy, that we love. Days that will see us packing for our much-anticipated family holiday on our beloved Straddie island. November will merge with December soon, and those days will see us looking forward to the Christmas the come. Now though, in this November, it is a time to remember and to celebrate the journey a once-small boy has made through his primary years before we look forward to a new beginning ...
White Yarrow and little orange Zinnias.
Spring onion seeds collected from our garden.
A tea towel tote bag of vibrant wildflowers.
Healthy & delicious quinoa salad.
A pale yellow nasturtium blooms in my own garden now.
Loving // Warm November days that are not too hot!
Eating // Healthy quinoa salads with roasted carrots, asparagus and cranberries. So good!
Drinking // Two glasses a day of a green drink to support my body's healing and to help bring it

was.
Making // Lots of little handmade things to gift for Christmas.
Thinking // I would like to make a knitted star, like the ones in Sarah's garland.
Dreaming // Of my feet touching the familiar sands of Straddie again.
These are our Novembers days. Others have joined in with Sarah, over at her gorgeous blog Say, Little Hen, to share some of their Novembers too. It's well worth visiting such loveliness.
May your November days be happy ones.

Good morning Meg,
ReplyDeleteI managed to blog this week from my iPad using Blogger touch pro, it was a steep learning curve to say the least. We are saying goodbye to our beach this morning, packing up and travelling back home, I really don’t want to leave. Your Here and Now is so lovely, I especially love your tea towel bags, I might have to make some. Have a lovely day,
Fi
Morning, Fi! Packing up is always so hard to do whenever I have to leave the beach. I understand that feeling completely! Safe travels home. MegXx
DeleteYour son must be excited to go the secondary school next year. Kids grow up fast, don't they? 😊
ReplyDeleteHe tells me he is "nerv-a-cited", Nil...a mixture of nervous and excited too! And, yes, they do grow up so fast! Meg:)
DeleteNerv-a-cited is a feeling I am well acquainted with, and now have the perfect word for! :)
DeleteThat's a sweet post Meg. Nostalgic and pretty and soothing to read. Children grow up so fast, time flies. Somehow we need to grasp and enjoy it - just as you have done here.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne. There are some lovely school events planned for the children and their families to enjoy these last few weeks as they prepare to say goodbye to a wonderful school community. Meg:)
DeleteLovely, lovely post, here in UK our gardens are closing for the winter, so brilliant to see your beautiful flowers. Children grow up far too fast.
ReplyDeleteGlad my post brought you some flowery joy, Marlene. The garden here is full of lots of flowers, as its Spring and we've had rain. MegXx
DeleteYour words are so poetic. Wishing you perfect health and healing. That food looks very nutritious.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your well wishes, Stephenie. I am doing everything I can to be well, both inside and out. The salad is delicious and full of goodness! Meg:)
DeleteOh what a milestone of finishing primary school. The end of a season, while a new one awaits.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you sweet Mama while you enter this season of transition.
xx
Thank you, Emma! It is a time of transition and change coming up so it's lovely to think back and to remember. Meg:)
DeleteAs the song says: Giant steps are what you take, walking on the moon. Big steps for new learners, indeed. My eldest starts her first Senior year (grade 11) and was the first test year, to start high school back in grade 7. Before that, it was grade 8. Then the State changed the rules to come in line with the rest of the States. Silly conformity, lol.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holiday that approaches! The school year is almost at an end. Yay!!
Definitely big steps, Chris. I hope your daughter's start in Year 11 is a smooth one and that you all enjoy relaxing school holidays before that new school year rolls around again. MegXx
DeleteSuch a big step in growing up! Enjoy the final days and your countdown to holiday time. You special place at Straddie looks lovely indeed. Pats and love to Sir Steve - perhaps an extra treat as well. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy when they leave primary school...such a big milestone then all of a sudden your youngest [mine] has just about finished her first year of high school. Primary school there is so much parent involvement however high school there is only the music concerts, parent teacher interview and the award day at the end of the year...it is such a transition just as much for the parents as is for the kids. I've just written a blog post about gathering all the details of photos for the years they have been at primary school so I can start putting together photo books. For the high school years there will be 1st day of high school and couple from the High Schools FB page and the award and the school photo from Grade 7-12 and there will be formals in 11 and 12 but limited schooling pics. I can't believe I will have a graduating student in 3 years myself. Such big milestones for families. Enjoy your Straddie holiday we are putting up our Christmas Tree this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI just clicked over to your post with your makes on it - they are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI think it's important to try and slow down and enjoy November, every year it just seems to be blended in with December as everyone begins to prepare for the end of the year.
Thank you for joining in H&N again!
