Shades of Pink

Different shades of pink, from delicate and pale to bright and deep, ...

Pink petals of a Cranberry Hibiscus bloom.

Pale pink strawberry  smoothie.

Deep foxglove pink.

A fluffy pink puffball.

Playing with pinks for a quilt patch.

Bright pink salvia bloom.

...are such pretty variations on a sweet colour.

    1. We've had some steady rain at last, Chel. The plants and I are loving it! I hope you've had good falls up on the range. I haven't checked the rain gauge here yet but will in the morning. 🌧

  3. Hi Meg,

stunning photos as usual. Your photos of the flowers in particular are calendar worthy.

I would definitely buy a calendar featuring these photos or the beautiful shots you took while you were at Rainbow Beach.

My daughter really loved one of those photos and said that if it was available as a print she would buy it to hang in her hallway.

Hope you and your family are keeping well.

    Warm regards, Maria xx.

    1. Dear Maria,

You and your daughter are so very kind. I'm glad you like my flower photos. I adore flowers and would happily sit in the garden and admire them all day long.

I hope you too are keeping well and finding joys wherever you look.

      Meg 🤗

p.s. Which rainbow beach photograph did your daughter like? My favourites were of the sunset up on the Carlo Sandblow.

    2. Good morning Meg,

my daughter's favourite is the very last photo in your post 'The Cliffs at Rainbow Beach'. I love that one too but also love the sunset photos in your 'The Carlo Sand Blow at Rainbow Beach' post.

In the late 1980's, there were prints of dolphins and sunsets that were very popular. We have three of these on our family room walls. Your sunset photos are similar in style and colour. Obviously my good taste hasn't changed in 30 years😉.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday.

      Cheers, Maria xx

    1. Hi Cherie. The puffy pink flower is the bloom of the powderpuff shrub. They grow around our neighbourhood streets and are in bloom now. They are like bursts of fireworks. Meg😊

  6. Hi Meg, beautiful shades of pink...
You know I used to dislike pink as my beautiful sister in law was swamped by pink everything, but as the years have passed I have grown to like it and possibly even love it...
    Take care Meg,

  8. Beautiful!

I have several cranberry hibiscus plants, but no flowers yet. Do you know its leaves are edible? I use them in salads and sometimes add to my morning juice. I love its flavor. :)

    1. Salvias are just awesome plants for the hot, dry weather. I find they are pretty much indestructible making them a firm favourite. I have been given two new salvias recently, by a lovely gardening friend, and I've been so excited to see them flower in the garden. One is a deep pink and the other is a lovely purple-blue. MegXx

    2. Let's hear it for wonderful gardening friends! Is there anything better? I love offering cuttings from my garden, and over the moon when a local gardening buff, offers me some too. I wonder if the purple-blue one you received, is Mexican Sage? It's one of the original varieties, and hardiest in drought. I don't know if it was just my local suppliers, but they're pretty hard to track down. The retail nurseries, seem to favour the hybridised ones, over the more common varieties our grandparents kept.

    3. I will have to ask my gardening friend what variety the purple-blie one is, Chris. It's more blue than purple. It's not Mexican Sage as I already have that growing in garden and it is incredibly hardy as you say.
      Meg🙂
